The TextUs and Greenhouse integration allows you to text candidates directly from your Greenhouse workflow and have each text logged in your candidate's Activity Feed. This article will give you step by step instructions on how to integrate your TextUs and Greenhouse accounts so that your texts log as notes in your Activity Feed in Greenhouse. If you are looking to pull phone numbers from Greenhouse into TextUs, you will also need to download the TextUs Chrome Extension.

Creating your API Key

In order to complete this step, you will need to be a Super User and Admin in Greenhouse. This key is different than in regular use. It can only be used in conjunction with the API. You will be able to assign only the required rights depending on your integration use cases.

First, click on the Gear in the upper right corner of Greenhouse to go to your "Configure" menu. From the "Configure" menu in Greenhouse, click on the "Dev Center," then "Configuring Job Board," then "API Credentials."  You can also go directly to this URL:

Click on 'Create New API Key' and select 'Harvest' for your TextUsAPIKey.

After creating the API Key, you can customize what access you would like the key to have access to within Greenhouse. At the minimum, TextUs needs access to the activity feed, GET: List Candidates, POST: Add Note, GET: Retrieve User, and GET: List Users.

Adding your API key into TextUs

Once you have created your API Key, follow these steps to input it into TextUs:

  1. Login to TextUs
  2. Click the "Settings" Gear in the upper right corner of your screen
  3. Click on the Integrations tab (if you are a TextUs Org Admin, click on the Accounts tab, then click on your account)
  4. Click the button next to Greenhouse
  5. Enter your Greenhouse email and API Key
  6. Click Submit
